I love back to back summers

So after a stormy Sunday, today was an amazing sunny summer day!!! We spent the day in the garden and tending to the animals. Adam found more baby chickens hidden away! They are adorable. The duckings are growing bigger, the plums are growing faster and the garden is out of control! We’re really hooked to this lifestyle and so excited for the day we can have our own farm…  A few random shots of the summer farm.

We've been picking a basket like this every day!!!! Time for some jam i think!

A dark and stormy Sunday

My friend Nathalie sent me a really great quote the other day that I just love:  ”It’s more interesting to have just a picture of a small detail- then you can dream all the rest around it. Because when you see the whole thing, what is there to imagine? ” Dries van noten – Here are a few photos of today.

plums

For the past couple of days we’ve noticed that the plum tree in the orchard has suddenly grown juicy delicious plums! However there is alot of competition when it comes to getting to the plums first because the little wild colourful parrots (can’t remember their name right now..!) try to eat them all up. Got there first today!

Poppy time!

HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!!! So the poppy seeds from the poppies have dried up! I spent a bit of time today opening up the flowers to capture the awesomess inside. And to top it off my super chef husband made bagels with them!!! Oh man, i think bagels are one of my favorite most missed food from Montreal, and these just made my day, week and month. YUMMMM!!! Take that St-Viateur and Fairmont! (PS – to see how to make these bready bits of heaven check out adams blog www.adamfanson.wordpress.com)
